WAYNE’S HARD NEWS - Calum von Moger - Mr. Universe. Today being Bastille Day in France, 14th July, it seemed perfect timing for this long overdue edition of my Hard News. I have recently returned from France where the 2015 WFF Universe was staged by Olivier Ripert in his home city of La Ciotat on the western end of the French Riviera, near Marseille. Calum von Moger was named Pro Mr Universe for a third time. (He was Junior Mr Universe in 2011 and won the 2014 WFF Amateur Mr Universe last year in South Korea.) |

Wayne and Tina of GMV recently journeyed to Dunedin in the South Island of New Zealand to compete in the Indoor Rowing events, held on Feb. 6th, at the annual NZ Masters Games. The Games Village and venue for the rowing was the magnificent new Forsyth Barr Stadium. WAYNE’S HARD NEWS - How to spot a fake DVD. Bodybuilding is a small sport, and although you may think DVDs are expensive and you want to save a few pounds or dollars, when you buy a fake you damage the sport and you really do jeopardise future production. Making DVDs costs money that has to be made back, and any profits made, unlike a Hollywood film – are small, as the potential market is actually very small |

WAYNE’S HARD NEWS - 2010 NABBA Universe Report The Overall Amateur Mr. Universe title was again decided at the end of the evening show after a round of compulsory poses. I know that time is always an issue at the show, but I would love to see these 4 class winners given a head-to-head 60 mins posedown after these compulsories. I felt that Zupan would have an overall edge, not just because he had striated glutes but due to his total package of size, shape and condition. |

WAYNE’S HARD NEWS - 2010 OLYMPIA REPORT Phil Heath looked outstanding – hard, ripped, symmetrical with a tiny waist, and from what I saw backstage, appeared to be the man to beat, although Jay looked equally as impressive in a massive sort of way, displaying good abs and separation. Dennis Wolf looked the best in several years but does need more calf size for better overall symmetry. |

Wayne's Hard News - The Making of the Sergio Oliva "The Myth" DVD. This long and exciting Sergio Oliva story started a long time ago. Back in 1966 when Sergio entered his first Mr. Olympia contest, he placed 4th behind eventual winner LARRY SCOTT. I really became aware of Sergio's amazing physique when I saw photos of him being surprisingly beaten by Bob Gajda for the AAU Mr. America title, and by coincidence, both men being from the Duncan YMCA in Chicago. |

My visit to CNP Professional, May 2010. In late May I had the opportunity to visit with my friend Kerry Kayes, owner of CNP Professional. This gave me the opportunity to visit his brand new manufacturing facility and offices. The new building is in Hyde, Tameside, on the outer edge of Manchester in the NW of England. The new place is state of the art! It is 20’000 sq ft and has cost well over £2 million so far in setting it up. |
