On this special day when the world remembers the terrible events of 2001, I hope this month's Hard News will emphasise many positives as we reflect on the tragic loss of life last year.

In my May Hard News I mentioned 3 videos in particular that I was working on with the aim of completing their editing before our departure for the Olympia.  All 3 have been completed during the past month and are worthy of a few words.

Firstly the 2001 Olympia Women at the Expo and Behind the Scenes, GMV-463.  This epic video was the longest in our series as we had so many outstanding sequences, including some from back stage, that had not been used.  In particular, oiling and pumping sequences with IRIS KYLE (Heavyweight Ms. Olympia winner), plus segments on JULIETTE BERGMANN, ANDRULLA BLANCHETTE, BETTY PARISO, DAYANA CADEAU and more.  It includes every woman in the Ms. Olympia plus some of the top Fitness Olympia competitors as well.  It was probably a case of saving the best till last!

OLYMPIA PREVIEW

Here are my predictions...

Mr. Olympia - I see it ending in this order: Ronnie Coleman, Chris Cormier, Flex Wheeler, Lee Priest, Kevin Levrone, Dexter Jackson. This would be Priest's best ever Olympia placing if he does better than 6th.

Ms. Olympia - the 2 class winners will be Juliette Bergmann and Yaxeni Oriquen. Overall could go either way. As a long shot the heavyweight class could go to Lenda Murray depending on the type of physique the judges are looking for.

Fitness Olympia - you can put your money on Susie Curry!

The other series of tapes now completed is the set of 6 from the 2002 Arnold Fitness Weekend from Columbus, Ohio.  We completed the editing this week of 2002 Arnold Classic Men at the Expo plus Arnold Strongman Challenge, GMV-469.  A classic tape in every way with posing and interviews from 10 top guys plus the sensational lifting of the Apollon Wheels at the strongman event.

The event included many of the World's Strongest Man competitors with massive MARK HENRY the winner.  He received a HUMMER, same as JAY CUTLER, so things were really "Humming" that night.  A full description of the video will be on the site by the weekend, before we leave for U.S.A..

The complete 2002 Arnold Fitness Weekend series of videos is as follows, and these are the only videos from the event.  At this stage no broadcasts have gone to air from the 2002 Arnold events.

The other project we have completed today is our documentary on the fabulous 2001 Ms. Olympia winner, JULIETTE BERGMANN of Holland.  GMV-487 (61 minutes).

From our joint archives we show Juliette over a 20 year period with most of the footage from Las Vegas last October.  Titled JULIETTE BERGMANN - MS. OLYMPIA MEETS THE CHALLENGE we follow her through every stage of her magnificent overall victory.  The jewel in the crown is the outdoor poolside posing on the day after the Olympia.  A complete description of this video will be on our site this week.

We will be bringing copies of Juliette's video (and all recent releases) with us for sale at our GMV Productions booth at the Olympia Expo next month.  Juliette will be visiting our booth to sign video covers, sell photos and pose with her fans.  Don't miss her!

EDITING NOTES

Next week Sean will start editing the 2002 Masters Olympia.  It was the closest and most exciting in years with a brand new winner in DON YOUNGBLOOD.  It also saw the return of CHRIS DUFFY and DAVE HAWK and more.  See our RESULTS section.

We are currently editing the video of our local State Championships here in South Australia and this will also be on the site this week.  Tina may be too busy to catch our flight at the weekend!  The Pump Room tape from this show is now ready, GMV-485 (31 minutes, $29.00).  The Prejudging & Show video, GMV-489, will be completed by the end of the week.

This week we completed the 5th and final gym shoot on Adelaide's own NICK JONES as he prepares for the Mr. Universe in England in a few weeks time.  So far we have had 8 separate shoots over 12 months with Nick, making this the most in-depth major production we have ever attempted.  It is a very exciting project and Sean will start the editing after the Masters Olympia.  It will be called "Road to the Universe with Nick Jones."

By the way Nick is Mr. World, Mr. Australia, and hopes to win a Universe title before he hangs up the posing trunks.  You can see a photo of him taken yesterday by Tina in our new style newsletter out this Friday.

Our video on Australia's top Pro Bodybuilder, LUKE WOOD was released just over a week ago, so check it out as well, GMV-488.

At the end of next week we will be shooting with CLARENCE BASS in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  We hope to have "RIPPED - The Video" produced in time for Christmas.  It will be sensational and packed with information not found in any other tape.

GMV'S LOYAL HELPERS

Over the years, several guys have given a huge amount of their time and effort in helping me shoot films and videos.  The first such helper was WILFRIED DUBBELS of Germany.  I first worked with Wilfried in 1972 in London, and thereafter he drove me round Germany each year up to and including 1978.  Wilfried would act as my booking agent by contacting all the top bodybuilders for me in all parts of Germany.  Then he would drive me to the respective gyms, or a nearby park or forest where many films were shot.

We attended top contests as well including a World Championships in Amsterdam, Holland.  They were wonderful years and I thank Wilfried for his loyalty and many talents which included his acting as my interpreter as well.

Wilfried is in his early 50s now and is still in great shape.  He runs a most successful pharmacy in Northern Germany.  Some of his titles were as follows:

Mr. Germany 1970 (2nd, Junior class)
Mr. Body 1970 (all classes, overall winner)

I plan to catch up with Wilfried at FIBO next year.
