Mike Mentzer Remembered 9 Years On. Over a period of 4 years, 1977 to 1980, I was able to record Mike at his absolute peak and also did some important recording of Ray at his peak in 1978. The most important shoot with Mike, in my opinion, was the one at Muscle Rocks, in the mountains behind Malibu, in August 1977. |

Wayne’s Hard News: 2009 NABBA World Championships Report Having just returned from Slovakia, I am writing this report one week after the event while it is still very fresh in my mind. Historic Kosice, the second city of Slovakia in Eastern Europe, was host to the NABBA World Championships, staged at the internationally famous Steel Arena. For those of you who have little idea as to exactly where Slovakia is, it borders the Czech Republic, Austria, Poland, Ukraine and Hungary.
The host hotel was the brand new 5 star Hotel Yasmin. Everything was set up for a fantastic event and boy did the promoter deliver! |

Wayne’s Hard News: 2009 Australian Pro Grand Prix Contest Report, Clip and Results. Who says that top pro bodybuilding stars do not want to make the long journey to Australia? Do not try asking promoter Tony Doherty that question after he drew to Australia the winners of the first 2 pro shows of the season! I refer to SILVIO SAMUEL who was winner of the 2009 Iron Man Pro and KAI GREENE, winner of the 2009 Arnold Classic one week before. This was the first time ever Tony has had both winners of these events at his show, all from the same year. |

The 20th Anniversary 2009 Iron Man Pro – Contest Report by Wayne Gallasch, GMV. There were 28 competitors from 14 countries making this an extremely even lineup of mostly guys you would call non-monsters. More the type of physique presented by the current Mr. Olympia, Dexter Jackson. I call this the look of the future and a turning away from the monster physique with the bloated mid-section and often loss of esthetics. |
