1984 NABBA Universe Men: The Prejudging now on DVD!! 1984 NABBA Universe Men: The Prejudging. This DVD covers the Amateur and Professional class PREJUDGING competition. You will see all the major stars such as BRIAN BUCHANAN, TIM BELKNAP, MIKE QUINN, OWEN NEIL, RONALD MATZ and ED KAWAK. This is the only DVD from the 1984 NABBA Mr Universe. Negrita Jayde, RIP - the passing of another star of women’s bodybuilding!! Negrita Jayde, RIP. We are very sad to report the recent death of NEGRITA MARIA JAYDE (TRUSZYK) after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She passed away on August 28th, 2009. We met Negrita in 2000 in Los Angeles when she attended Wayne’s Legends Reunion. We extend our deepest sympathy to Negrita’s family. Serge Nubret health news - OFFICIAL STATEMENT. To cut a long story short and to stop the rumours circulating on the internet, we have decided to publish this official statement concerning Serge Nubret's state of health. On March 19, 2009, our father was discovered by firemen, at home in a coma. He was immediately transferred to the Lariboisiere hospital. Since that time, Serge Nubret has been under the supervision of the hospital's medical staff. For now, the diagnosis is a hypoglycaemic coma probably due to a malfunction of the pancreas. The exploration of his condition continues while Serge Nubret is in rehabilitation. We will keep you informed of any change in his state of health. Meanwhile, we suspend his website. It is with great sadness that I share with you the news that Ivan Dunbar died in his sleep on Monday, 10th of August at his home in Northern Ireland. He was in his 81st year and he had been a very close personal friend for the last 40 years. Ivan was a former chairman of NABBA UK and was the serving chairman of NABBA International. He was a great person, a legend in the sport of bodybuilding and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His whole life had been devoted to NABBA and the promotion of bodybuilding in Northern Ireland, plus Irish and NABBA International bodybuilding. He brought Arnold Schwarzenegger to his Belfast shows as a guest poser on numerous occasions along with just about all of the world's greatest bodybuilders over the last 50 or so years. I know some of  these facts as Ivan and I have been collaborating on a 60 year history of the NABBA Universe DVD set. Fortunately I last met with Ivan at the recent NABBA Britain in May to record more Universe history. This 60 year history DVD set will have Ivan telling the story of the NABBA Universe starting with the first H&S Universe of 1948 to the NABBA period from 1950 right up to the present. This year will be the actual 60th NABBA Universe to be held 1950-2009, and the big celebrations will be held next year 1950-2010.  Ivan was the only man who had attended every single Universe from 1948 to 2008 inclusive. In the photo (left) Ivan is pictured with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dave Draper at the 1970 NABBA Professional Universe in London. 1996 NABBA German National Championships: The Men’s Evening Show on DVD!! 1996 NABBA German National Championships: The Men’s Evening Show. With around 3 million bodybuilders, Germany is the second strongest bodybuilding country in the world after USA. Accordingly 11 classes were needed to cater for the huge number of competitors making this easily the largest number we have seen in a single contest at this time. Held in the famous Jahrhunderthalle in Frankfurt, GMV covered this incredible event featuring 175 outstanding competitors in total. Daryl Gee’s comeback at the LA Championships and another ’96 NABBA Oz Classic!! Daryl Gee wins the Mr. Los Angeles title. Last weekend, Daryl Gee won the overall NPC Los Angeles Bodybuilding Championships after a 4 year hiatus from contests. This weekend he competes in the Mr. USA in Las Vegas. We wish him every success. 1992 NABBA Women’s Worlds DVD released, plus our complete NABBA Worlds DVD index!! 1992 NABBA World Championships: The Women - The Show. FIGURE Italian MONICA CAPONETTO took out the SHORT CLASS FIGURE title, improving on her 4th place at last year's Universe of 1991. In the TALL FIGURE CLASS, Australia's own champion, the glamorous and muscular  SAMI RENOUF was hot on the heels of the eventual overall Figure winner - the beautiful and shapely SARYN MULDROW from Denmark. In the OVERALL POSEDOWN, it was a very strong showing from SARYN MULDROW that saw her take a well earned victory over MONICA CAPONETTO. Saryn later went on to win  the 1996 Fitness Olympia title. A battle royal took place in the SHORT PHYSIQUE CLASS 2 between ANDREA KLAESKE of Germany, and Australia's DEBORAH COMPTON. Deborah had the best back and triceps in the whole contest and improved as the day went on. Andrea was the most ripped competitor with excellent overall balance, great symmetry - and came out on top. In the TALL  WOMEN'S PHYSIQUE CLASS 1, it was a very close fought  thing with victory  to SYLVIA HOEFLER  by one point over Italy's CINZIA CAMPEIS.  Sylvia had the biggest and best shaped legs seen in a long time and  grabbed the class title from the equally outstanding CINZIA CAMPEIS. In the OVERALL POSEDOWN for the title of Women's World Physique Champion, it was the 21 year old German prodigy SYLVIA HOEFLER who prevailed over short class winner ANDREA KLAESKE. A very young Mike Buder was the novice winner. Mike was enormously popular in South Australia throughout his bodybuilding career. He had a great personality, and a superb physique to match. 2009 NABBA Miss Britain Finals: Prejudging & Show now released and reprise on the 2008 British Men!! 2009 NABBA Miss Britain Finals: Prejudging & Show. The 2009 NABBA Miss Britain Finals consisted of 3 FIGURE CLASSES being TONED FIGURE and TRAINED FIGURE Classes 1 and 2. Our DVD presents the complete prejudging and show with all of the posing routines and every single set of comparisons through to the awards and Overall Figure posedown and presentation to Jo Sperring. MISS TONED FIGURE The winner of this very high standard class of 19 was the outstanding EMMA FOXTON from the N.E. with Eva Patoka taking 2nd place, and with last year’s winner Kay Ferrier having to settle for 3rd place. MISS TRAINED FIGURE CLASS 2 In first place was the dynamic Scottish star, LAURA IRVING, who displayed to perfection her great shape, leaving second place to Silvana Imbrogno with Gina Ford taking out an excellent 3rd place. MISS TRAINED FIGURE CLASS 1 This was a tough class with JO SPERRING from the West taking first place. Last year she was a very close second in her class and this year the title was hers. Second was Natalie Jakomis from Wales with Jane Brooks from the Midlands in 3rd place. 1994 NABBA Australasian Bodybuilding Championships: The Show now on DVD!! 1994 NABBA Australasian Bodybuilding Championships: The Show - Men & Women. Held in Melbourne, VIC, and including the inaugural FITNESS - FIGURE divisions, this is the contest that leads to the NABBA Universe in England!  The sparks were flying in the battles to see who would win the titles of Mr. & Ms. Australasia, as well as gaining a place in the national team to compete in Birmingham. The Men's Open Classes included the dynamic and controversial COLIN MURPHIE taking out the short class title.  What a routine – need we say more!  In the Men’ Overall Posedown, a brilliant presentation by SHANE STRATTON saw him take the Overall Mr. Australasia crown. Shane went on to later win his class at the NABBA Universe. Graeme Lancefield was a strong winner of the Masters Class. In the Women's Physique Class, the favourite to win - the World Physique Champion, LISA EGAN, was pipped at the post by newcomer ANDREA IZZARD from Mildura, Victoria.  The judges decision was totally vindicated on the stage in England, where Andrea not only won her height class, but also took out the overall NABBA Miss Universe title. In the figure class, three time second place getter MERISE MIRAGLIOTTA from WA finally cracked it for the title, against stiff opposition from Terri Roberts. This was the year when Gary Lewer (Men's Open Tall) took out his 3rd Overall Mr. Australia title. The Open Medium Class was won by Enzo Giuffre from Qld. The Open Short class was won by Bruce Leong from the Northern Territory. Bruce was unbeatable on his day and later went on to win Overall titles. This particular contest actually had a Schoolboys division (won by Rick Sweeney) - and you don't see this class very often these days. At the evening Show, Sammy Ioannidis, Mr. Universe, was the star guest poser. Sammy displayed his huge, ripped legs and amazing physique to the delight of the huge audience. 2009 NABBA World Championships Results now posted!! 2009 NABBA World Championships Results. Wayne is just back from the 2009 NABBA World Championships held in Kosice, Slovakia last Saturday, June 13th.  There were competitors from around the world including Australia, Austria, Brazil, Czech Republic, Greece, Israel, Holland, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Ukraine, UK and more. The overall men’s winner was the Ronny Rockel “look-alike” Slovakian Vladimir Flimel. The overall figure winner was Anzhelika Musalimova of the Ukraine. More than 100 superb competitors, men and women, gathered at the Camberwell Civic Centre, Melbourne on Saturday 16th of May, 2009. A huge variety of NABBA and WFF categories were contested. The winners amongst the NABBA competitors qualified for the 2008 NABBA Worlds in Slovakia, while the WFF winners were off to Germany for the massive 2009 WFF Universe contest.    Overall, the quality of competitors was first rate and MC Nick Jones was lavish in his praise, having competed and won at the highest international level himself. NABBA Worlds and Gary Lewer revisited plus IFBB Pro Figure success for Rosa Maria Romero!! 1989 NABBA World Championships: Re-released on 3 DVDs. 80 of the World’s top physiques from U.K., Germany, Italy, Spain, U.S.A. Australia gathered on the famous Costa Blanca. We did previously release these classic DVDs in a rush, without full details. The full contest report along with complete RESULTS listing every single competitor has now been added to the 3 individual contest pages. It was a very large international event producing a brilliant result for Australia with an 2 Overall Titles in the men’s classes – GARY LEWER and PETER WALL, and a class title for the women – LEISA CAMPBELL. At the Show we used a second camera team to compliment our close-up camera which concentrated on  extreme close-ups throughout the prejudging and the show. First of all, PETER WALL from Sydney won the JUNIOR CLASS from blond English star CLINT DYE. Then it was a fired up GARY LEWER from Melbourne who was the deserving and emotional winner of the Overall Mr World title. What a triumph for Gary with very few Australian men winning overall NABBA titles. This was the biggest victory of Gary’s long and illustrious career. 1995 NABBA Australasian Bodybuilding Championships: Show - Men & Women on DVD plus Fit Show clip!! 1995 NABBA Australasian Bodybuilding Championships: The Show. A big contest with lots of action!  42 of Australia's best bodybuilders battled it out in the annual muscle fest to see who was worthy of the titles Mr. & Ms. Australasia for 1995. This premier event is a qualifier for the NABBA Universe in England. Once again the posedown for the Overall Champion is included in this Show DVD. When the dust had settled, Western Australia’s Grant Clemesha emerged as Overall Mr. Australasia. Those who were chosen to represent Australia at the NABBA Universe were Grant Clemesha, Shane Stratton, Colin Murphie, Heather Adams, Tania Mittoni and Doug Powell. Grant Clemesha then went on and won his Universe class and the Overall Amateur Mr. Universe title. He has been the only Australian to ever win the Overall Amateur Mr. Universe crown. 1998 NABBA Australasia: The Women's Pump Room now on DVD!! 1998 NABBA Australasia: The Women's Pump Room. The top female bodybuilders of Australia gathered on 12th September in Darwin, Northern Territory, to vie for the National titles and consequently win trips to the 50th NABBA Universe in the UK. The venue was the huge Marrara Sports Stadium in Darwin. Our GMV cameraman was stationed in the Women's Pump Up area throughout the contest and shot this wonderful footage for us. You will see the women listed below as they pump and pose backstage. PINA THEODORIDIS was the Overall Figure Winner, pictured front cover above along with Physique Winner HEATHER ADAMS. 2009 INBA Adelaide Classic Natural Physique & Figure Titles now released!! 2009 INBA Adelaide Classic Natural Physique & Figure Contest. This is the first INBA Adelaide Classic Natural Physique and Figure contest. See another strong line-up of outstanding natural bodybuilders as they contest each division for the various titles. The shredded and beautifully proportioned SVEN LINDERMANN took out the OVERALL men’s title after an exciting posedown at the end of the contest. In the Women's Open Figure class the winner was a fantastic JANERE REID who edged out the very experienced Alison Moyle. WARRICK WILLIAMS took out the Masters Division. All class winners were outstanding.
