Armand Tanny passed away on Saturday March 5th at the age of 90. Born March 5, 1919 in Rochester, New York, Armand featured in magazines from the age of 14. He was trained by his elder brother Vic of gym-chain fame. He went on to compete in bodybuilding contests while also being one of the most experienced and prolific writers the industry has seen. Armand started writing for Weider Publications in 1949 and continued writing many more articles during the next 60 odd years. He also won the following titles: 1949 Pro Mr America, Winner: North American Championships - IFBB, 4th: Mr USA, 5th. 1950 Mr USA, Winner. Armand received the Iron Man Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001 (click here for V-170DVD) and was inducted into the Joe Weider IFBB Hall of Fame in 2005. Our condolences to the Tanny family.

Death of a bodybuilding legend in "Zabo" and a new release from Threshold!! Irvin “Zabo” Koszewski, RIP. We are sad to report the death on Sunday March 29th of Irvin "Zabo" Koszewski. He was aged 84. “Zabo” was known as the Baron of Muscle Beaches - both Santa Monica and Venice. He was one of the best known and most popular muscle men in Southern California over the last 58 years, since he moved there from his native New Jersey. He was often known as "Mr. Abs." Nobody in the history of bodybuilding won as many best abdominals awards as "Zabo" Koszewski. He won many overall titles and when ever sub-divisions were a part of the competition, "Zabo" always won "Best Abs." We extend our deepest sympathy to the Koszewski family. 1995 IFBB English Grand Prix Pump Room & Seminar now on DVD!! 1995 English Grand Prix: Pump Room and Seminar. Many fans make an annual pilgrimage to the Nottingham Royal Concert Hall for the English Grand Prix which is like a re-run of the Mr. Olympia, one week after the event in USA. With most of the top stars competing and still in their superb Olympia condition, we took the opportunity to record all the action from the PUMP ROOM and SEMINAR! Our first of 2 DVDs from this event, it is the most mind blowing pump room footage you will ever see (approx. 30 mins), followed by the champions seminar (approx. 30 mins). In the informal seminar, VINCE TAYLOR, KEVIN LEVRONE and PAUL DEMAYO (with assistance from promoter Wayne DeMilia), answered many questions from the audience. 2009 Iron Man Pro DVD now released!! THE 20TH ANNUAL IRON MAN PRO DVD. This annual Californian Pro event was held, along with the LA FIT EXPO, in the Los Angeles Convention Center on January 24th. The show opened with Lonnie Teper’s tribute to the winners of the Iron Man contests over the past 19 years as a prelude to this the 20th year of the event. Many of the past winners were then presented on stage such as Shawn Ray, Chris Cormier, Flex Wheeler, Jay Cutler, Dexter Jackson and Phil Heath. This was a special moment for a group photograph with contest promoter John Balik. There were 28 competitors from 14 countries making this an extremely even lineup. 1989 IFBB Professional Men’s World Championships now on DVD!! 1989 IFBB Professional Men’s World Championships. Another Arnold release celebrates the Arnold Classic on Saturday and another from Threshold on DVD!! Arnold and Contemporaries now on DVD!!  ARNOLD - THE FIRST AND THE LAST FOOTAGE. This is a DVD that features Arnold and some of his friends and contemporaries as well as many stars who followed soon after Arnold. Featuring rare new footage of Arnold at the 1966 NABBA Universe. This was his first Universe appearance as a very young bodybuilder. Then the last public bodybuilding Expo appearance we have of Arnold on video - as a movie super-star at FIBO '93. 1990 NABBA World Championships: The Women - Prejudging & Show now on DVD!! 1990 NABBA World Championships: The Women - Prejudging & Show. This DVD completes the set of 3 DVDs from this 1990 World Championships held in Australia. The Men’s DVDs are listed in the previous 2 What’s New. Enjoy all the highlights from the Prejudging for all classes, plus all posing routines through to the posedown and final awards and posedown at the show. It is one of the greatest NABBA women's contest DVDs we have ever offered. The Short Class Figure was won by the petite and lovely Claudia Mayrhofer of Austria, while the Figure Tall Class was convincingly won by Aussie Bronwyn O'Brien over Sylvie Esmenjaud of France - 2nd, and Stephanie Wehr of Germany in 3rd place. Bernie Price of the UK won the Women's Physique Tall Class, and Tania Panza from Italy, with a simply awesome physique, took out the Short Class and won the Overall Women’s Physique title. In the Women's Professional Physique Class, Germany's Sabine Wick completely dominated her opposition and with biceps and overall muscularity and extreme condition that had to be seen to be believed, she was simply unbeatable. The main stars were Terry Mitsos, Peter Reid and Robert Wall who ended up as the Amateur Mr World Class winners. We don't have a lot of footage on the career of  Australia’s own Terry Mitsos. This DVD provides quite a comprehensive look at this great  bodybuilder from Sydney who became the Overall Amateur Mr. World at this contest. 1990 NABBA World Championships: Amateur & Pro Men - The Show on DVD!! This DVD includes  the complete Professional event, including the Pro Prejudging. It features Charles Clairmonte, Samir Bannout (yes THE 1983 Mr. Olympia Samir Bannout), and Gary Lewer, 1989 Overall Mr. World. To the best of our knowledge, this was the only time that Samir competed with NABBA. It was an historic and stellar event in every way. Other big stars included Gary Lewer, Peter Reid, Shaun Davis and Robert Wall. See all the posing routines from all of the competitors, plus posedowns and awards in this 100 minutes of outstanding World Championships bodybuilding in Australia. Both Terry Mitsos and Charles Clairmonte were most outstanding winners. It truly was a battle of champions “down under”. Samir, Charles Clairmonte and Terry Mitsos had long and successful careers including  outstanding results in the IFBB as well.
