2011 Olympia Stop Press from Las Vegas!! 2011 Olympia Stop Press from Las Vegas. The final competitor numbers for the Olympia add up to a grand total of 131, possibly a record, and broken down as follows: Mr. Olympia:  24 competitors 202 Class:     20 competitors Ms. Olympia:  17 competitors Figure Olympia:  29 competitors Fitness Olympia: 13 competitors Bikini Olympia:  28 competitors Trish Warren is out of the Fitness Olympia, having announced that she and Branch are expecting their first child.  We believe that this will be the final year for the Ms. Olympia, and next year there will be a Women's Physique Olympia, with the emphasis on a much smaller physique. Jay Cutler is the 12th Mr. Olympia winner since the competition began.  His focus, this year, is to stop the crowning of the 13th Mr. Olympia.

This final Olympia qualifier took place in Tijuana, Mexico, Saturday September 10th, 2011. Our congratulations to Ed Nunn, Marcus Haley and Robert Piotrkowicz for being the last three competitors to qualify for the 2011 Olympia contest next week. In particular this now puts Robert Piotrkowicz into the Olympia. Abbie Burrows took out the Pro Bikini Class. 1998 SABBA South Australian Bodybuilding Championships Set of 3 DVDs!! 1998 SABBA South Australian Bodybuilding Championships Series. Held at the popular bodybuilding venue, the Dom Polski Centre, this annual NABBA event drew all of the best bodybuilders from the state of South Australia. Our 1997 Australian Figure Champion, Lorraine March, opened proceedings with a guest posing display. Death of Luke Wood on August 31st, 2011. RIP Luke. The Death of Luke Wood at Age 35. All of us at GMV were very sorry to learn today of the passing of Luke Wood on August 31st at Westmead Hospital, in Sydney. Luke had been ill for some time, waiting for a kidney transplant.  We hear that the new kidney turned out to not be a successful transplant, and that Luke died during surgery. Luke Wood was a rare gentleman and good friend. He was a 6 times IFBB Australian Amateur Champion before embarking on his IFBB Pro career in 2001. We had the privilege of working with Luke in 2002 when we shot a training DVD with him, GMV-488DVD, on the day after the Aussie Grand Prix. Our deepest sympathy to the Wood family, and Luke - may you now rest in peace.
