1987 IFBB Australasian Championships and New Strongman Clip!! 1987 IFBB Australasian Championships: The Show.
The star guest posers were Rich Gaspari and Terry Mitsos.
This is a very significant classic contest as it contains some rare footage of the late JYRKI SAVOLAINEN as he wins his Heavyweight Class. It's our only Aussie footage of the 8 times IFBB Mr Australia winner.
Sadly Jyrki Savolainen died in his native Finland in 2005 as a result of an auto accident. He was one of Australia's greatest ever physiques, and was much loved in this country. (You can also see Jyrki in the 1983 IFBB Amateur World Championships, GMV-266DVD.)

1993 NABBA Australia now on DVD!! 1993 NABBA Australia.
This championship was held on June 6th, 1993 and staged in the marvellous World Congress Centre, Melbourne. Representatives from each state vied for the chance to represent their country at the 1993 NABBA World Championships to be held in New Zealand the following week.
GMV took the opportunity to shoot this event with two cameras, to show you the best closeups, and the best angles, with all the action from the Prejudging and the Show. The DVD also features star guest poser, NABBA Figure Ms. Universe winner ANITA LAWRENCE! At the show you will again see the posing from all competitors along with the Overall Posedown won by GRANT CLEMESHA.
Grant then went on to win the 1995 Overall NABBA Amateur Mr. Universe crown. He is the only Aussie to ever win this Overall Amateur title.

1995 SABBA Adelaide Physique Classic now on DVD!! 1995 SABBA Adelaide Physique Classic.
This classic DVD presents the complete contest, Prejudging and Show, from the Dom Polski Hall, Adelaide, May 13th, 1995.
The APC contest is held each May to select the S.A. state team for the NABBA Australian National Championships.
The star guest poser was TERRI ROBERTS, a local national title holder and later 2001 Figure Miss Universe winner, assisted by Michael Buder, in a very raunchy "Harley Davidson" posing routine.
Mark Trewartha was the Overall Winner of the Mr Adelaide title, and pictured front cover. Anna Leigh won the Figure Class and Sam Harding won the Women's Physique Class.

Back in 1972 I met up with Ell Darden at the Munich Olympic Games in Germany.
We did a photo shoot inside the Olympic Village with 2 USA team members. For the PHOTOS & FULL STORY, click here.
As the wonderful London Olympic Games draw to a close, it is hard to believe this shoot was 40 years ago this week.
In 1978 Wayne was invited to the Nautilus Facility by Art Jones, in conjunction with Ell Darden who also worked closely with Casey, in order to film Casey at the Nautilus TV studio and also on the nearby Daytona Beach.

The line up was stunning as South Australia's best physiques took to the stage for the Mr. & Ms. Adelaide Physique Classic titles. Two of the country's best physiques fought it out in the Men's Open in the Overall Posedown, with the ever popular master poser MARK TREWARTHA taking the Overall title from a ripped MIKE BUDER!
A future Mr. Australia emerged in the shape of new Junior star SHANE BOWDEN, and the Figure Class was taken out by FAE GARLAND.

1987 UBBA Australian Championships set now on DVD!! 1987 UBBA Mr. Australia: Men's Prejudging.
The Prejudging DVD brings you the complete posing routines of all the men plus all of the key comparisons. Unlike most national shows overseas, this Australian event included classes for guys from under 17 through to Teens, Juniors and Novices.
These young men were a huge highlight and will be the stars of the future.
Overall winner Gary Lewer went on to place second at the NABBA Universe 1 week after this show.

When our gmv.com.au web site was launched 14 years ago today, it was one of the few in bodybuilding that also included an on-line order cart. Now we take all of these things for granted. We have created so many DVDs over the years that we also have a second web site, gmvbodybuilding.com with additional material on it with PHOTO GALLERIES and BIOs etc. We will come up with some special deal for the 14 year anniversary in our next newsletter!

Held on 21st August, 1988, in Adelaide, South Australia. A very young Mike Buder was the novice winner.
He later won the state title, the National title and then represented Australia at the NABBA Universe.
The OVERALL winner was the very symmetrical and huge STEVE TAYLOR with his 20” arms.
You will see all the best South Australian bodybuilders, men and women in every class, as they pose and are compared at the Prejudging.
 At the show, Mr. Universe SAMMY IOANNIDIS was the special guest poser at this long-running state championships. Sammy was posing at the peak of his career having won the short class at the 1986 NABBA Mr. Universe in London.

 FIBO '96 Jazz Dance Competition.
This is a new release on DVD from the 1996 FIBO. Held on the main stage, this contest produced a great battle between various teams of aerobic style jazz dancers. The key to success was athleticism, well-toned bodies and great style and technique.
All routines were performed in a brilliant jazz dance style. Some of the teams were entirely composed of beautiful young women while others were mixed teams of men and women. The power and grace displayed by some of the dancers was truly amazing. This was an amazing competition featuring some of the best fitness bodies in Europe.
