This was the second year of the IFBB Flex Pro contest, staged in the famous Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in LA, California. The Men's Prejudging includes all of the compulsory poses and comparisons, followed by the evening Finals with every competitor presenting his posing routine, followed by the top 5 posedown and awards. It was a wonderful first ever Pro victory for LIONEL BEYEKE over BEN PAKULSKI with FOUAD ABIAD in third place, followed by Shawn Rhoden and a shredded Eduardo Correa. New Hard News from Team GMV at the New Zealand Masters Games!! The New Hard News Report from Team GMV at the New Zealand Masters Games. Team GMV, that is Wayne and Tina, recently took part in the 2012 New Zealand Masters Games - Indoor Rowing. Tina had the misfortune to tear a hamstring about 10 days before the Games meaning a huge disappointment for Tina and Team GMV. Having done all of the hard training together with Wayne over the last 8 months, it was extremely unfortunate for Tina to have to drop out. Accordingly she put all of her energy into coaching Wayne in his 4 events. Thanks in large part to Tina's coaching, it was Gold Medals for Wayne in his events, which he competed in this order - 2000m, 1000m, 500m and 300m. Tina and Wayne will now start training for the Aussie Pan Pacific Masters Games on the Gold Coast in Queensland in early November. See the COMPLETE HARD NEWS REPORT FROM TEAM GMV.

2012 IFBB Flex Pro Report & Results!! 2012 IFBB Flex Pro Report & Results. Fast Rising French Star Bodybuilder Lionel Beyeke wins the 2012 IFBB Flex Pro. Adela wins the Pro Fitness. The 2012 Pro bodybuilding season began with a bang in the famous Santa Monica Civic Auditorium with the second annual IFBB FLEX Pro competition. Lionel Beyeke, the former 2008 NABBA Mr. Universe,  took out his first professional bodybuilding title in what I will predict will be the first of many. He presented a very substantial package of muscle, with great size, good shape and a small midsection. Sort of a cross between Serge Nubret and Sergio Oliva! It was an event of 'firsts'. Overall Open Men's winner GARY TCHERNAKOFF had a physique reminiscent of a Sherman Tank crossed with a pocket battleship! Muscle density, ripped to shreds - well balanced, and a unique posing routine. He had it all and is pictured front cover left. Bill Howard, RIP and a new second clip for Mark Dugdale's Legacy DVD!! Bill Howard, RIP. It saddens me to pass along the news from Joe Wheatley that Bill Howard has passed away on Friday, January 6th. Bill was the long-time Promoter at the Muscle Beach contests before the reins were handed to Joe in 2002. Bill was a great character, and I knew him from shooting many of his contests on film from the mid 70s till my last Bill Howard event I shot on video in 1985. He was inducted into the Muscle Beach Hall of Fame in 2005. His contribution to our sport and his introduction of bodybuilding to the average Venice Beach fan was exceptional.
