1991 EFBB British Championships: The Show now on DVD!! This was EDDIE ELLWOOD'S big year. This  was the contest at the Wembley Conference Centre when one of England's most popular bodybuilders of all tim, EDDIE ELLWOOD, gained his IFBB Pro card. The women's overall winner for a Pro card was another very popular choice in JOANNE LEE. 1986 UBBA Australian Bodybuilding Championships: Men & Women Parts 1 & 2 now on DVD!!  This UBBA Australian National Championships was the forerunner to the NABBA Australian Championships of today. The highlights of this huge Nationals show held in Adelaide on September 7th  1986 were definitely the overall winners: Gary Lewer, Sammy Ioannidis, Irene Nickole and Dijana Kisul Rudolf.  Gary, Sammy and Irene were all multiple National Australian Champions. The event was so big that we had to split it into 2 separate 3 hour DVDs so that you get to enjoy every single exciting moment from prejudging through to the final posedowns and awards. NABBA Worlds Results now posted!! Here are the RESULTS from the NABBA Worlds from Greece. Please click here to go to the 2008 contest results section. Wayne shot the WFF Universe event as usual and Sean will start editing it next week. Also, as is the case each year, there were a huge number of competitors from all around the world with a team of over 20 from Australia alone. The standard was simply incredible. Look for a number of DVDs to do justice to this major event. Due to the logistics of all these overseas events, we were unable to shoot the World Championships ourselves. However we arranged with the event promoter to have the contest professionally shot for us so that we can produce our own DVDs in our usual GMV style. We will keep you updated on all of these exciting projects.

Classic Contests 1965 Mr. Olympia: 1969 East Coast USA: 1981 IFBB Mr. Universe now on DVD!! We are proud to release some very rare footage of Classic Contests shot by one of our USA cameramen. See some highlights from the following Classic Contests: 1965 Mr. Olympia won by Larry Scott; 1965 Mr. Universe and Mr. America from the same year; 1969 IFBB East Coast USA; 1981 IFBB Mr. Universe from Cairo, Egypt. Naturally these segments are all excerpts, and are film to video transfers, with music added. Do not expect the quality to be HD, as these contests were shot under difficult lighting situations with the technology that was available at the time. However this DVD is a priceless record of a piece of history that otherwise would have been lost. 1996 NABBA Universe: The Men – The Show now on DVD!! The Men's Amateur Classes were - in a word – fantastic! Men's Class 4 was overwhelmed by Jason Corrick of the UK, with Australia's Quinn Lay in second place. Men's Class 3 was Bill Jones from that all-time favourite poser Ramsford Smith. Men's Class 2 was Serge Dessel of France (who also won the 1996 NABBA Worlds), and Men's Class 1 was a whopping battle between first, second and third. Federico Focherini from Italy eventually won the class, with Russian Sergei Ogorodnikov in second place. Overall Amateur Mr Universe went to Federico Focherini. He was symmetrical, huge, ripped and hard as Carrara marble - the best condition of any competitor in the Universe. The Men's Professional Class was the biggest we have seen for some time with 12 great competitors. At last "The Dinosaur" - Shaun Davis's dream came true - he won first place from Dennis James of USA, and Joe De Angelis in third. Former NABBA Mexico President Carlos Rojero murdered!! We are sad to learn that Carlos Rojero was murdered during a robbery as he was closing his gym on June 11th. He was an outstanding bodybuilder having represented Mexico at the Universe on a number of occasions. He was preparing for this year’s Universe which will be on October 4th. His best placing was 5th in Class 4 in 2004. To see Carlos in this event, please click here for GMV-596DVD. John Terilli & Bob Saad now on DVD!! JOHN TERILLI - Sensational Australian in his early career at 21 years of age. What a fabulous physique at 5’11“ tall, 190 lbs, 50” chest and a 29” waist. 1992 EFBB British Championships now on DVD!! The Prejudging: Men & Women In this the Prejudging DVD, we feature some of the most incredible physiques to ever grace the stage, including overall winner J.D. DAWODU.  At 5'7" and 220lbs of shredded beef, he was said to be Britain's best new Pro in years! The EFBB is Britain’s amateur division of the IFBB where the overall winners of these national championships qualify for a Pro card. This 2 camera shoot from the prejudging, held at the famous Wembley Arena in London, contains all of the highlights from the men’s and women’s classes.  Placegetters Basil Francis and Ian Wadley both later went on to win this event. For all of the details on the PREJUDGING DVD from this contest, please click here for GMV-154DVD. 1992 EFBB British Championships:  The Show Each year the EFBB British Championships determines which two bodybuilders, male and female, will join the professional ranks.  Tensions run very high indeed!  1992 was no exception with one of the most controversial decisions ever - judging by the "boos" when each place was called out in the Men’s Heavyweight Class (Over 90kg).  When it got to fourth place we witnessed one of the most disgraceful exhibitions of bad sportsmanship we have ever seen. When MICK THEO, not content with his fourth place, walked over to the girl holding the enormous first place trophy, grabbed it off her and hurled it to the floor!  The winner and new IFBB Pro, J.D. DAWODU (see front cover photo) was outstanding, and fully deserved his brilliant victory.  When J.D. was announced winner of his class, the stage was over run with his supporters, with around 30 fans swamping the triumphant (but bewildered) bodybuilder.  J.D. Dawodu went on to have a successful pro career. He was always noted for his huge, magnificently peaked biceps. The winners of the Women’s Overall tile and a pro card was Kimberley-Anne Jones. In memory of Mike Mentzer, a legend in bodybuilding!! It was on June 10th, 2001 that Mike Mentzer sadly passed away. Yesterday was the 7th anniversary of his death. His brother Ray Mentzer died one day after Mike. Wayne was privileged to call Mike a close friend and worked with him on a number of occasions, recording Mike incredible physique at its peak. Mike even called Wayne on the day before he died, full of excitement over his latest project. We are sad to report the death of Pro Figure star Amanda Savell!! The last time we taped Amanda Savell in a contest was at the 2007 Arnold Figure International event where Amanda placed 2nd to Mary Elizabeth Lado. Police found the bodies of Ms. Amanda Earhart-Savell, 30, an IFBB professional fitness competitor, and her friend Mr. Jacobs, 35, a former amateur bodybuilder, shot to death inside his home on Honey Creek Lane in Plano, Texas on Thursday morning, June 5th. Investigators would not say at this stage if it was a murder-suicide. We would like to dedicate this last contest appearance in our Arnold DVD to the memory of Amanda, struck down in the prime of her life, with a wonderful bodybuilding career ahead of her. 1988 NABBA Professional Mr. Universe: Prejudging & Show now on DVD!! The winner of this prestigious title in 1988 was the magnificent CHARLES CLAIRMONTE from UK. For the second year in a row the Professional Universe was staged as a completely separate event along with an international amateur contest called The Super Body Power Classic. In this DVD see the complete Prejudging with all of the hard fought comparisons. Then the posing by every competitor at the evening finals through to the posedown and awards. Other competitors who pushed Charles all the way included the very strong USA team of Jerry Scalesse, Jeff King, Marlon Darton and Rufus Howard. Strong British opposition came from Basil Francis (1987 NABBA Amateur Mr Universe) and Eugene Laviscount. Charles Clairmonte won 4 NABBA Universe titles in his early career and then went on to have a stellar IFBB Pro career winning four IFBB Grand Prix. 2008 NABBA-WFF International - The Men’s DVD now available!! More than sixty superb competitors gathered recently at the Camberwell Civic Centre, Melbourne, Australia on Saturday May 10th. A huge variety of NABBA and WFF categories were contested, ranging from muscular bodybuilder categories to the more aesthetic look of the athletic men.  It was a qualifier with the winners from the NABBA competitors selected for the 2008 NABBA Worlds in Greece, while the WFF winners were destined for Germany to compete in the massive 2008 WFF Universe event. Wayne is now in Germany ready for this annual competition! Overall, the quality of competitors was first rate and MC Nick Jones was lavish in his praise of the competitors and the fierce competition. It will be coded as GMV-700DVDSP and will be a historic release being our 700th GMV coded production. We have also released 211 DVDs in our “V” coded series making a total of 911 separate productions to date. When we reach 1000 we will come up with something special to celebrate the occasion.

1999 EFBB English Grand Prix Amateur Class now on DVD!! Held in Manchester, England, and sponsored by CNP Professional, this outstanding contest presented 10 of the U.K.'s top amateur men in a Pro qualifier. The main prize was a Pro Card to compete in the IFBB English Grand Prix which followed immediately after the amateur event. The standard was so high that 2 Pro Cards were finally awarded. The DVD includes the complete contest, all rounds, posedown and awards. The Pro Card winners JAMO NEZZAR and COLIN WRIGHT both competed with distinction in the Pro Grand Prix that night. The winner was RONNIE COLEMAN. 2008 NABBA/WFF Mr & Ms International Results now posted!! GMV shot this outstanding contest in Melbourne, Australia on May 10th. It had many amazing classes and an extremely outstanding overall winner. The winner of the Junior class was LUCKY HATZIPANTELIS of Australia. His name proved to be doubly lucky as he went on to take the NABBA Overall Open title, a feat I have never seen achieved before by a Junior. He will compete for Australia at the World Championships next month. I feel he is a future pro bodybuilder in the making. Death of legendary bodybuilder CLARENCE ROSS!! We are sad to report the recent death of bodybuilding giant Clarence Ross on April 30th. He was an early legend of the sport and one of my favourite physique stars when I first discovered bodybuilding. He was a contemporary of Steve Reeves. 1979 Mr Olympia and 1980 IFBB Mr Universe now on DVD!! 1979 MR OLYMPIA This is rare film footage from the 1979 Mr. Olympia!
