2012 Flex Pro Report & Results.

Rising French Star Bodybuilder Lionel Beyeke wins the 2012 IFBB Flex Pro.

The 2012 Pro bodybuilding season began with a bang in the famous Santa Monica Civic Auditorium with the second annual IFBB FLEX Pro competition.

Lionel Beyeke, was the former 2008 NABBA Mr. Universe champion, and here in sunny CA he took out his first professional bodybuilding title in what I will predict will be the first of many. He presented a very substantial package of muscle, with great size, good shape and a small midsection. Sort of a cross between Serge Nubret and Sergio Oliva!  Lionel's condition was good enough to win at this level but will need to go up a notch next time. I felt that the condition displayed by Eduardo Correa and Ben Pakulski outshone that of Lionel by a considerable margin. In fact Eduardo looked like a human anatomy chart and probably deserved around about 3rd place.

Ben Pakulski made a strong and determined showing in taking 2nd place. His conditioning and leg development were amazing and he only lacks a little in arm size and total detail in his back. When his upper body matches his legs he will be almost unstoppable.

Third place went to early event favorite Fouad Abiad. Abiad has a great all-round physique with no glaring weaknesses and displayed great symmetry. The only thing lacking this time was better conditioning which clearly prevented him placing higher.

Shawn Rhoden in 4th place put in a solid performance but with no particular bodypart dominant. He was extremely fortunate to place in front of the amazing young star from Brazil in Eduardo Correa.

Eduardo Correa was totally shredded, with wonderful shape and symmetry. The only things that may have counted against him was his smaller stature and perhaps calves in what was his debut contest in this open bodybuilding class. He has previously been a star in the former 202 Class.
Grigori Atoyan rounded out the top 6.

This was the second staging of this Flex Pro event and is the first show where only the winner in each class will qualify for the 2012 Olympia

2012 IFBB Flex Pro Fitness.

The 2012 Flex Pro event was the first time the FLEX PRO Fitness title has been up for grabs. It was no surprise that six-time Fitness Olympia champion Adela Garcia was too strong for the rest of the field. However Oksana Grishina and Myriam Capes both pushed here all the way with their incredible routines.
I was very pleased to see Oksana get the high placing she so thoroughly deserved. Top 3 were of course Adela Garcia, Oksana Grishina and Myriam Capes with Tanji Johnson dropping to 4th this time.

IFBB Flex Pro Bikini

This title went to the beautiful and superbly conditioned Janaina Barral. She stood out from a large field of outstanding Bikini competitors.
GMV had the privilege of covering this complete event for Flexonline. It was superbly promoted by Robin Chang and his very professional team.

Pro Men: Shawn Rhoden becomes the 14th Mr Olympia winner as he stunningly took home the top prize in 2018. Phil Heath has held the title for the last 7 years, but on the big night this year, it was not to be his record-equaling victory # 8.
