Notes on the Iron Man Pro The Iron Man Pro show is always the first IFBB Men's pro bodybuilding competition of the season. This contest showcases the latest rookie competitors as well as the regular pros. Combined with the FitExpo, lots of seminars, tons of booth giving away supplements and samples, and a great press conference and weigh in, the 2005 Iron Man Pro was the best ever. I feel sure we can expect even more at the 2006 event! GMV will be there once again covering all the action from the 3 days. The IFBB Iron Man Pro Bodybuilding is the biggest and longest-running IFBB professional bodybuilding event on the West Coast. It is the only pro show in Los Angeles, the mecca of bodybuilding. The top 3 finalists will qualify to compete in the next Mr. Olympia. The Iron Man Obusforme NPC Figure Competition features the most symmetrical and well toned female bodies in the country. The FitExpo is California's premier consumer fitness expo featuring educational seminars and workshops from renowned experts, interactive classes and workouts with celebrity instructors. Plus exhibits of the latest bodybuilding DVDs, fitness products and services, strongman events and more. Where is it being held? Pasadena Center Civic Auditorium, 300 E. The Pro Strongman Challenge The Pro Strongman Challenge is a featured event of TheFitExpo, California's premiere fitness weekend, coming February 17-19, 2006 to The Pasadena Center. Each day of TheFitExpo incredible feats of strength will be performed as competitors vie for over $11,000 in cash and prizes as well as a slot in the upcoming World's Strongest Man Super Series. Experts in the field of strength sports call this the best line-up of Strongman competitors ever in an All-American meet. Friday Afternoon Super Yoke Carry(Who can Carry the FURTHEST/FASTEST?) The athlete will attempt to lift and carry a 900 pound yoke on his shoulders for up to 100 feet. Truck Pull (Who can pull the FASTEST?) The athlete will attempt to pull a 20-30,000 pound truck the fastest over a 80-100 foot course (harness and rope). Saturday Farmers Carry Medley (Who can Carry the FURTHEST/FASTEST?) The athlete will attempt to lift and carry various (pairs of) implements in his bare hands each for a set distance. Fastest time to complete course wins. Viking Press (Who can Lift the MOST?) The athlete will attempt to push press overhead three wine barrels loaded on a rack for as many times as possible. Deadlift Medley (Who can Dead Lift the MOST weight?) The athlete will attempt to dead lift various implements (barbells, axles, barrels etc.) ranging in weight from 500 to 800 pounds. Fastest to complete all lifts wins. Sunday Deadlift Hold (Who can Dead Lift and Hold the LONGEST?) The athlete will attempt to dead lift and hold a rack loaded with 800 pounds in his bare hands for as long as possible. Overhead Lift Medley (Who can Lift the MOST weight overhead?) The athlete will attempt to lift various implements (logs, axles, kegs etc.) weighing from 275 to nearly 400 lb from the ground to overhead. Fastest to complete all lifts wins. Stones of Strength (Who can Lift, Carry and Load the FASTEST?) The athlete will attempt to lift, carry and load 6 stones weighing from 265 pounds to 410 pounds onto platforms of various heights. Fastest time to load all 6 stones wins. Now in its third year, TheFitExpo attracts well over 10,000 fitness fans and has quickly become Southern California’s premiere fitness weekend.
