GMV-045 Andrulla Blanchette - Olympian & British Champion (shot in 1986): 1 hour $39.00

GMV-045 ANDRULLA BLANCHETTE

Andrulla Blanchette was absolutely unbelievable at the age of 20. In less than a year and half she produced the physique you see in this video. GMV filmed this video in their London studio back in 1986 on the technology of the times.. a 3/4 inch U-Matic. The video quality is superb throughout the entire film, the "Prince" music truly brings you back to the mid 1980's appeal and ambience. The outfits Andrulla wears are classic for the 80's era. I hate to say this but her hair is styled the same way as my grade 2 teacher. So, I was about 7 years old when this video was done (I attended grade 2 in 1986/87). By the way, I had a crush on my grade 2 teacher. She was very cute and fresh out of teacher's college.. only about 24-25 years old.

Anyway, let's get back on track here. Andrulla does a lot of posing in this video, which was a slight let down. Andrulla does posing alone and with her friend Ossie Osborne a male bodybuilder. The majority of the posing is strictly focused on biceps. As the video progresses we see a wide array of bicep shots and back poses. I'm still somewhat stunned that Andrulla build this physique in such a short period of time. It only took Andrulla 1 year and 3 months training completely naturally to build the physique you see in this video. Her diet consisted of supplements and a 3-4 day workout schedule in 1986. Typically, her workouts lasted 2 hours in length.

We truly get to see the personality and history behind Andrulla during her interview. I don't want to spoil all the interesting details.. but she truly has a down to earth, girl next-door personality. Andrulla is totally comfortable in front of the camera. During the interview we learn that Judo was Andrulla's passion before she got hooked on bodybuilding. In fact, in Pump Room she mentioned she finally met her life long goal of winning Ms. Olympia. Andrulla's initial interest in bodybuilding comes from.. yes, a bodybuilding magazine featuring women bodybuilders. GMV's 1986 video portrays Andrulla's dedication and hard work, which eventually led to her Ms. Olympia 2000 victory. The last 20 minutes of this video is couple posing with Ossie and other solo poses done by Andrulla.

The major thorn in my side was the lack of weights or gym routines in this video. I must admit Andrulla does some barbell curls and other free weight exercises in this video. Although, I really can't complain about the overall appeal this video offers. You get to watch an up and coming professional female bodybuilder, one who stresses the need for natural physiques. The 1980's era of female bodybuilding is my favourite. The 1980's female bodybuilding scene has an appeal I really can't describe. Perhaps being a young kid back in 1986 gives 80's female bodybuilding a nostalgic sensation.

Final Thoughts....
GMV Productions did a stellar job filming Andrulla in 1986. Her physique is simply unbelievable for a 20 year old with limited bodybuilding experience. Who knew that Andrulla would get her Pro Card and win the Ms. Olympia 2000 lightweight category. Once you watch this video, you'll see the focus and passion Andrulla had to become a Ms. Olympia champion. I really wish GMV shot Andrulla in the gym
