Remembering Kenny Kassel. Remembering Kenny Kassel. It was 4 years ago today, December 24th in 2008 that we all lost a great friend in Kenny Kassel. He was involved in almost every aspect of the health and fitness business. His wonderful booming voice would often be heard at the opening of an Olympia competition or other major event. He was my GMV team interviewer for the 5 years prior to his death. I recorded 2 seminars with Kenny and they will be released on a DVD next year. Remembering Paul DeMayo!! FIBO ’96: Bodybuilding's Best. As far as we know, FIBO 1996 was the last public appearance by Paul to be captured on video. Today we have added a great photo of Paul that he gave us at FIBO '96 in Essen. This DVD brings you all the action from the various posing shows. 2012 IFBB Masters Olympia & Miami Pro Results!! Dexter "The Blade" Jackson takes the 2012 Masters Olympia title!! IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson is a veteran on the Pro scene having competed in the Mr. Olympia for many years. From a brilliant lineup of 32 competitors at the big event in Miami, he has now added a second Masters Olympia title to his CV that also includes one Mr. Olympia crown. The top 3 were Dexter, Toney Freeman, and Dennis James making his comeback. Multiple Masters Olympia winner Vince Taylor placed 3rd several times in the Mr Olympia, but Dexter is the only IFBB Pro to hold both Mr. Olympia and Masters Olympia titles. There were also 3 classes for IFBB Pro Women. This brings to an end a fantastic bodybuilding season for 2012. We hope to later have DVDs of the whole event. In Memory of Clive Jaques. The Clive Jaques Legacy. It is 12 months ago today, 10th December, that we lost our long time loyal GMV team member Clive Jaques (April 29, 1939 - December 10, 2011.) He was a founding member of the GMV Productions Camera Team, from 1971-2006. In 2007 Clive's Alzheimer's disease really kicked in and the last 4 years of his life were very tough.   You see Clive's name in the end credits of hundreds of our DVDs, and on hundreds of our photo credits. He was also interviewer for several of the Mr. Olympia DVDs in the early 2000s. I have selected just one of many DVDs where you hear Clive's voice, this one being his meeting with the great strength and physical culture historian, Dave Webster. 2012 Amateur Mr. Olympia Result and 2 new Preview Clips!! 2012 Amateur Mr. Olympia Winner. A few days ago this prestigious contest took place in Kuwait. The overall winner, champion of the champions, was Mamdouh ELSSBIAY from Egypt. This victory gives him entry to the Mr Olympia contest next year in Las Vegas. Our congratulations to the Kuwaiti Federation President Bader BOODAI, and all those involved in the event. I am not aware of any DVD production of this contest, but I have offered to cover the event next year on DVD should they be interested. 2012 IFBB Nordic Pro Figure & Finnish Women's Nationals!! 2012 IFBB Nordic Pro Figure & Finnish Women's Nationals. Presented by Mass.fi and promoted by KP Ourama, the IFBB Nordic Pro Figure, Finnish Nationals and Fitness Expo is one of the most outstanding events we have covered this year. The brilliant winner of the Nordic Pro Figure was Gal Ferreira-Yates of Brazil in her first professional contest. Kati Alander of Finland was a very close runner-up with Ann Pratt from USA in 3rd place. Gal is the wife of Dorian Yates, making this a double for them to have both competed in the Olympia. Ourama and held in Finland.  The Prejudging includes all of the compulsory poses and comparisons for each competitor, and then the evening Finals with every competitor presenting his posing routine. This was followed by the top 5 posedown and awards. Plus tons of extra scenes. It was an outstanding victory for ROELLY WINKLAAR from ROBERT PIOTRKOWICZ and RONNY ROCKEL. Bodybuilding legend Sergio Oliva passed away November 12th, aged 71. Sergio Oliva, RIP July 4, 1941 - November 12, 2012. It is with great sadness that I report the passing of Sergio Oliva. Universally known as “The Myth”, Sergio won three consecutive Mr. Olympia titles from 1967-1969. His on-stage battles with Arnold Schwarzenegger will go down as probably the greatest rivalry in the history of bodybuilding. 2012 IFBB EVLs Prague Pro Championships Winners and other News!! 2012 IFBB EVLs Prague Pro Championships. It was a big night in Prague for Dennis Wolf, Flex Lewis and Justine Munro who all won their respective classes at the 2012 IFBB EVL Prague Pro, when the IFBB returned to the Czech Republic for the first time in 14 years. This contest was promoted by former Ms. Olympia competitor, Eva Sukupova. The last time was in 1998 for the Ms. Olympia, won by Kim Chizevsky. The 1998 promoter was former women's bodybuilding competitor Jarka Kastnerova - now Jarka Lorie, promoter of the 2012 Masters Olympia. GMV had the privilege of providing the camera team for that historic 1998 Ms. Olympia event - see the 1998 WOMEN'S OLYMPIA DVD, A-0964DVD. For more women's footage from Prague, also see GMV-318DVD. 2012 Arnold Classic Europe & Houston Pro Results & 1987 Classic Contest!! 2012 Arnold Classic Europe. October 13th, 2012   Madrid, Spain. It was a day of surprises at the 2012 Arnold Classic Europe last Saturday in Madrid, Spain. Two out of the three divisions went as projected, as both Shawn Rhoden after 3rd at the Olympia, and Erin Stern continued their recent string of success and good form. However Oskana Grishina pulled off an upset by ending Adela Garcia’s run of dominance in the Fitness division. After Oksana placed 2nd in the Fitness Olympia the writing was on the wall that she was ready to take a top title, and this was the day.
