Shawn Perine of Flex magazine has confirmed Paul's passing from a drug overdose on June 2nd. It has been a terrible time lately for deaths in the iron game. He was only 37. He died as a result of an auto accident on the 26th of May. He was much loved in Australia where he lived for most of his bodybuilding career. I regret that we do not have any video footage of Jyrki but we do have his wife, Catrina Ingram Savolainen, in video GMV-380. My good friend Thomas Klose of Germany tells me that Anthony Clark died on Monday, May 23rd at the age of 38. This was probably the best selling tape from any we produced from the 2001 and 2002 Arnold Weekends. It stars a rampant JAY CUTLER who cleaned up by taking the overall title and the Most Muscular Man trophy. In fact the top 10 was like a Mr Olympia list of competitors. As far as we know no other tapes or DVDs of the event have been released since ours of 2002. | | 14 MAY 2005 | Former World's greatest bench presser PAT CASEY passes away at 65!! Back in the 60s Pat Casey was my hero and inspiration as an up and coming young bench presser from down under. I received the news last night that Pat passed away on April 22nd in USA. I met Pat in February 2003 at the Iron Man luncheon honouring Bill Pearl. (Bill's Lifetime Achievement Award was presented the next day at the 2003 Iron Man Pro, click here.) Pat mentioned that he had been battling cancer and seemed to be holding his own. I have never released any footage I shot at that dinner but in respect to the many great champions present that day, I will do so on DVD in the near future. Joe Gold was also present that day along with many more former bodybuilding stars and celebrities. Pat was the first man to bench press 600 lbs and in March 1967 made a world record bench press of 617 lbs. He used no super shirt, no elbow or wrist wraps, no massive arch in his back, just pure strength. He took the bar from the rack himself, paused at the chest and then racked it! You don't see record bench presses like that any more. He was a true champion. We have lost a giant of the sport and a wonderful human being. Make it easy to quickly browse our complete list of about 1000 items. This is the first in our own series of men's DVDs we have edited from the 2004 Olympia Weekend. It is quite likely the best Mr Olympia Pump Room tape we have ever released. Shot under superb lighting with 2 cameras, we captured just about every drop of oil and sweat along with some amazing pumping and posing sequences. Naturally we recorded every second of Ronnie as he prepared for Olympia victory #7! All 19 competitors are shown and named in this feast of muscle. Lots of people have enquired if DVDs are available on video and vice versa. Most of the international producers such as Muscletime and Okabe are only releasing their new product on DVD. They are NOT available on VHS. However, GMV believes in servicing all their clients regardless of technology. So, for the time being, all our new releases on DVD are also available on VHS. If you wish to order a VHS copy please order from the DVD page and say in the comments box that you want VHS. Easy. We are still plodding along, releasing classics on DVD. The lastest was Casey Viator. We will do more as we can. Many of you ask if we will ever release some more of our back list on DVD. We will continue to release top selling features from the past years on DVD, and selected classic contests as well. Obviously making chapter points and adding photo galleries, as we do for all new contests, is not a viable option for most old contests. A very kind customer brought to our attention a terrible oversight. GMV-008VHS was missing from the site. For those in the know, Mike Dayton is a strong man whose exploits in the 80's were legendary.
