1991 WABBA European Championships now on DVD!! Two separate DVDs with one each for the Prejudging and the Show, each a massive 3 hours long.  In the Show DVD guest posers included the legendary and incredible SERGE NUBRET, and top Germans PETRA ENGELS and ELLA HANK.  The routine by Hank was extremely raunchy as she stripped from her clothes to stockings, suspenders and finally her brief (European style) posing suit!  Definitely a sight for sore eyes!!  Plus in the Prejudging DVD you can see all the comparisons between the total of 63 men and 26 women in the event. Death of British bodybuilding legend, Wag Bennett!! I am very sad to report the passing of Wag Bennett, a major force in British bodybuilding over the last  50 years. He owned a famous gym in East London where Arnold used to train when he stayed with them from the mid 60s when they first brought him to London for guest posing and Mr Universe victories. He was an early mentor of Arnold and he and Dianne were long time friends of Arnold  I first met Wag and Dianne in 1970 and in 1972 Wag set up for me my now famous filming and photo session on Wanstead Flats with Sergio Oliva. This later became the central core of my Sergio The Myth DVD, GMV-690DVD. If it had not been for the pushing and determination by Wag at this time, it would never have taken place. I took this photo of Wag and Dianne at the 2007 OH Memorial Dinner and Oscars night in London. Wag passed away Wednesday, Sep 17 after a long battle with prostate cancer. Please click here to see all of the RESULTS. Roy Hilligenn Dies At 85!! We are sad to report the death of 1951 Mr America Roy Hilligenn on August 3rd in Florida at the age of 85. He suffered a fall in which he hit his head, causing a blood clot. He died as a result of the operation when they attempted to relieve pressure on his brain. He was also an outstanding Olympic weightlifter in his time and remained in fantastic shape up till the time of his death. He will be greatly missed and was one of the true legends of the Iron Game. Former IFBB Pros Craig Titus and Kelly Ryan now Sentenced!! I report with regret, the latest news regarding former IFBB Pro stars Craig Titus and Kelly Ryan. This past week they have been sentenced to prison terms for the slaying of their live-in assistant Melissa James in December 2005 in Las Vegas. 43-year-old Craig Titus was sentenced last Friday to 21 to 55 years. He pleaded guilty May 30, 2008 to second-degree murder, kidnapping, and arson in the slaying of 28-year-old James. His wife Kelly Ryan was sentenced to 6 to 26 years in prison. She pleaded guilty to arson and Nevada’s equivalent of no contest to battery with a deadly weapon. This was my first ever Olympic Games experience and it was an experience I will treasure for the rest of my life. 2008 Arnold Strongman Classic DVD now released!! We kept something really special for our 700th DVD release in our ”GMV” series of code numbers. We could not think of any new release more worthy than this one from the 2008 Arnold Sports Festival.   Zydrunas Savickas of Lithuania triumphed again for # 6!  See Zydrunas Savickas of Lithuania as he wins two events while beating an international field of 10 champions to capture the 7th Annual Arnold Strongman Classic title. Overall there were 12 world records set throughout the competition. Savickas set three of them. In the Tire Deadlift he lifted 1,027 lbs. In the Circus Dumbbell he tied with Derek Poundstone for the world record with nine lifts each. In the Manhood Stones he lifted 525 lbs. three times. Savickas is generally considered to be the Strongest Man in the World, at 6’3” and over 400 pounds, the man is a giant of strength. Finishing second was Derek Poundstone of USA. This was a sensational effort beating USA’s World Strongest Man winner Phil Pfister and many other highly credentialed Strongmen. This DVD was shot with multiple cameras. Includes a Photo Gallery. 2 More Classic Contests plus the next Classic Collection Vol. 4 DVD now released!! 1998 Jan Tana Pro Classic now on DVD!! Held in North Carolina on the weekend of July 24-25, 1998, this was once again a lineup to rival the Ms Olympia contest, such was the incredible standard. You will see 23 amazing international BODYBUILDING WOMEN competing against each other in one massive class. It soon came down to the main battle between LESA LEWIS, GAYLE MOHER, DAYANA CADEAU and new Pro YAXENI ORIQUEN. Many of these women later went on to be major stars in the Ms Olympia competition with Yaxeni subsequently winning the Ms Olympia title in 2005. The DVD includes all rounds, Prejudging and Finals including the complete posing routines of the competitors. The eventual winner LESA LEWIS was one of the biggest, tallest, best built Pro women to ever grace a posing stage. She was simply awesome!  At 5’10” and weighing almost 200lbs ripped, she had a comprehensive victory over this star studded field. There is very little footage of Szkalak available, making this DVD a collector’s item!  Lee Haney as a teenager is rare footage, showing the enormous promise and potential that he fulfilled as an older competitor. He holds the record, along with Ronnie Coleman, for the most Mr Olympia victories at 8. The 1973 IFBB Mr Universe World Championships was held in Geneva, Switzerland. I was fortunately able to shoot his classic contest on film and it now forms the major part of  V-156DVD. Lou Ferrigno was the Overall Winner at this event beating such 70s stars as Mike Katz, Ken Waller,  Al Beckles and Giuseppe Deiana. I feel this was possibly the best Lou ever looked in amateur competition, as he took the overall title that day in convincing  style. The DVD consists of 33 minutes of Prejudging followed by 60 minutes from the evening FINALS  It includes lots of posing, pose downs and awards. 93 historic minutes from the 1973 IFBB Mr Universe.   The last 10 minutes of the DVD consists of highlights from the 1975 IFBB Mr. Europe contest held in Amsterdam, Holland. Peter Stach from the former Czechoslovakia was the stand-out physique in this event. He absolutely dominated the whole event with his superb, ripped and symmetrical physique and classic posing.
